Wood Burning & Multi Fuel Stove Installation

Enhance your interior with a warm, cosy atmosphere and a traditional style

Wood burner and multi fuel stove installations across Chorley, Wigan, Preston, Blackburn, Bolton and surrounding areas.

At Stephen Rhodes Chimney Services, you’re guaranteed a professional service from consultation to completion. Prior to carrying out any works, we offer a free visit to your premises and advise on the right stove required for your space. We will check if your chimney requires lining and check other aspects of fitting, ensuring that the ventilation is of optimum efficiency for your and your family’s safety.

To evaluate the integrity of your chimney, we will perform a smoke test before installing the stove. The procedure involves accessing the chimney and introducing smoke. The engineer will inspect the full length of the chimney and check if any smoke is escaping into your dwelling or leaking in from external points other than the chimney pot. Arrange your free visit – contact us today!

HETAS registered engineers

Our fully trained and registered HETAS engineer will ensure a competent and safe installation of your stove. On completion, the engineer will issue a HETAS certificate and register the work with HETAS. In addition to this, we are required to fit a carbon monoxide alarm.

The law on building regulations requires this to be completed, if a non-HETAS registered fitting is carried out Building Control must inspect all elements at a substantial cost. Any deficiencies in the fitting will also incur further expenditure.

Wood burner and multi fuel stove refurbishments

At Stephen Rhodes Chimney Services, we offer a comprehensive stove refurbishment service. Rather than going to the expense of buying a completely new stove, our refurbishments restore them to the quality of a brand new stove. This is also recommended as semi-regular maintenance as the cement and rope seals degrade over time on all stoves, and can present a danger with smoke and carbon monoxide escaping into rooms.

Work may include:

  • New register plate if worn/loose or rusty
  • Replace worn fire bricks
  • Remove and clean glass or replace if cracked
  • Replace missing or worn rope seals to doors and stove pipe
  • Clear rust and dirt with wire brush, wire wool and solvent
  • Repaint stove body with heat resistant stove paint
  • Seal round register plate with fire cement
  • Seal stove pipe to stove and pipe with rope and cement
  • Install carbon monoxide alarm
